Shoreham Grammar School

This is a study I did of my school when I was barely seventeen, and despite its obvious faults, it nevertheless holds certain historical interest, for the building has long since been demolished to make way for a community centre.

As far as I know there’s only one other pictorial record of its ever having existed, while, interestingly, on the opposite side of the road there’s a public library on the very site that was originally occupied by the school chapel. Sadly, I think the school governors got greedy and sold out for these developments and, in the process, irradicated the place which had helped to formulate my future.
